A Short note of gratitude

I am grateful for the slow steady progress we are making in the formation of Flowing River Aikido.  I feel very blessed and fortunate to practice right next to the beautiful Russian River area nestled in the midst of the surrounding hills and redwood trees, close to the ocean.  More than this, I am very happy for the people that come to train with me.  They are eager to learn, happy to help each other and are conscious, considerate people. The only requirement to practice is a desire to explore the art of Aikido.

The founder of Aikido, Morehei Ueshiba said this about who he wanted to attract, “I want considerate people to listen to the voice of Aikido.  It is not for correcting others; it is for correcting your own mind.  This is Aikido.  This is the mission of Aikido and should be your mission.”  I firmly believe this and want to do my part to have considerate people listen.  For me, Aikido is not for fighting.  it is for building bridges and furthering O Sensei’s vision of the loving protection of all things.
We practice Aikido Tuesday nights at 7pm and Sundays at 10:15am, and T’ai Chi Sundays at 9am.  Please come and join me!

“Always train in a vibrant and joyful manner”

– O Sensei
